Fathers Day. We slept late, all except Thomas. For some bizarre reason he thought he had to be up at 7AM!! Trenten & I did make Thomas breakfast. I held Trenten while I made the omlette. Can you imagine? After breakfast was another naptime for Trenten. About 2pm, we all headed for Lowe's to pick up Thomas's Fathers Day gift. Trenten got Thomas his very own pressure washer, so imagine, the thing wasn't even out of the box before it was fueled up & running. Clean steps, walkway, driveway and back patio/walkway. Trenten is a crazy boy in Lowe's. He is obsessed with lawn mowers of every shape & size. I should include the picture of him riding one of his favorites a month ago. He was in heaven. Lawn mowers, trimmers, yet not keen on the sound of the chain saw. With that one, he runs with a pouty face.
Since I put Fathers Day dinner in the freezer and it was not yet thawed out, we went out to have dinner. No recommending the new Puerta Varatta which just opened at the Federal Way Crossings near Costco & Lowes. Utter chaos in there. Next visit will be in a few months after they have been open awhile.
This makes Fathers Day #3 without my dad. He passed Fathers Day June 20, 2004. I prefer to remember all the silly past Fathers Days when daddy was so nice & funny while opening all his gifts of underwear or a new tool. Or he loved his silly homemade cards. Trying to not specifically remember the last Fathers Day with him. That was the longest day of my life. All of our lives. Yet time moves forward and now Thomas & I can celebrate Fathers Day with memories, laughter and Trenten.
On a different note: Trenten came running into the kitchen last week and said "puppy" clear as a bell. Thomas & I both just looked at him and then verified.."He just said puppy"... Also he says "OK" often when you ask him to do this or that. Just amazing. He understands so much yet speech is coming in bits & pieces. I don't mind. I love it all.
