HELLO EVERYONE!! A big THANK YOU to all whom braved the wonderful August showers to celebrate with Thomas and I on August 9th. I was sure it wouldn't rain, yet alas, it did. No matter, we had a wonderful day. We cannot thank the Wisconsin, Minnesota, California, and Colorado travellers whom came all that way to be with us. I couldn't believe you all came. We were honored, blessed, and so very happy. As you can see from the pictures, I had one hellofa great time. Nothing traditional for this chickie. Didi Miles of Natural Approach Photography did an amazing job capturing everything she did. Being we are great friends, and know each other pretty good, she knew she could take a picture of anything and I'd love it.
My bridesmaids were: Kerry Olsen of Boise, Idaho. Spring Break partner in crime and long time friends. Alyssa Johnson of Seattle, Washington. We were roomies in Bellingham, and have had a few crazy adventures of our own ((ie Tahoe)). Rachel Proctor of Maple Valley, Washington. She and I are co-workers at Puget Sound Energy for 4 years now. We have plenty of PSE adventures I cannot mention in print. HA HA The flower girls were Onika Miles, Gabrielle Miles and Salyna Woods. All my nieces. All gorgeous. All in dresses Didi Miles made in less than a week!! Ok what does this woman NOT do?? The groomsmen were Bryan Wiener of Edgewood, Washington. Bryan is married to my baby sister Bonnijean, and whose home Thomas and I were married at. Darren Graham of Puyallup, Washington. Thomas met Darren at the local gym years ago and were roommates. To my dearest friend, Ronnie Miles of Lake Stevens, Washington whom steadied my hand and nerves as he escorted me down the isle. Behind the scenes we toasted "well girl this is it" to a shot of Tequila! No wonder I was so steady and giggly!! Without Ronnie to walk me, I would never have made it as I was missing my daddy something fierce. Ronnie was my calm, my comfort, and my blessing. I cannot ever thank him enough for the honors. He got some practice in for his own girls Onika & Gabrielle.!!
We dedicated our day to my daddy, Donald W. Culbertson and to Thomas's mom and dad, Peter Orr & Kay Yalanova.
After the ceremony, all the out of town family came over to Cottage d'Orr in Milton to eat, laugh, talk, and see Thomas and I open gifts. Even got the wrestlemania between Dirilee & Ben on film. That was funny! I think she whipped ya Ben.
That Monday 8-11-08, the crew caravanned to Ocean Shores. There was a total of 5 vehicles on a mission and it was fantastic!! Thomas and I with Auntie Kay, Diri & Chuck, Ben, Jenny & Josh, Brigetta & Uncle Jim, and Matt with the girls. We had an amazing time at the beach. It was thee PERFECT DAY. To those whom know Ocean Shores, very rarely do you ever get the "perfect weather day" at the ocean. We totally did!
Tuesday 8-12-08, Uncle Jim & Auntie Kay had to head back to Milwaukee. Wish they could have stayed longer. It was nice visiting with them & nice being able to see them off at the train station. Trenten was overwhelmed with the trains in Tacoma.
Wednesday 8-13-08, Thomas, Trenten and I took off for the Olympic National Forest to meet up with Diri, Chuck, Ben, Jenni & Josh. We met them in Mora & camped overnight there. That is where we took those amazing pictures at Mora Beach. It was just a breath-taking day. Everyone got the chance to fly the kite, enjoy the surf & pounding waves, the sun, the wind, just everything. I managed to capture some amazing pictures as well.
Thursday 8-14-08 we took off for Port Townsend and camped at Old Fort Townsend. It was a really cool place. Ate dinner in town and watched the ferry come and go. Trenten was in love with the water and setermined to see the fishes.
Friday 8-15-08, we took the Keystone Ferry from Port Townsend to Whidbey Island, and camped at Deception Pass State Park Sunrise Resort. Ben & Jenny picked a really good spot. We checked out the beach at the park and explored the cliffs and rocks.
Saturday 8-16-08, we shopped & toured old town Oak Harbor. It was a HOT day that one, so we spent 90% of our time back at the beach. Later that night on the way back home, we swung by Greenbank Winery, which was closed, and took a peek at old town Coupeville. I absolutley want to go back there and so some sight seeing. We missed that treat during the week.
By Sunday the 17th, I was tired, relaxed, and totally not ready to go back to work. Thomas neither. It was wonderful to have been able to spend that time with everyone. Camping I loved. Thomas is NOT a camper, yet he did fine as long as he could have his speciality coffee in the mornings. Trenten, well, he did alright 1 of the 2 nights. This being his first time, I think he was a trooper.
Last note to leave you with is I am totally thrilled to be married to my best friend, and to know a love and companionship like I have. I am blessed a million fold. Thomas is my soul mate, my life, my breath, and my giggly other half. Trenten is our extension of all that. Finally, we are a family that we were always meant to be.
Much love to you all whom came to celebrate with us, and much love to those whom wanted to. You were all there with us in heart. We have 1500 pictures to sort through ((well Didi does, not me thank God!!)) It is wonderful to know we have such great friends & family.
Love Heidilynn Orr!! Wahoo!! Yehaw!! Yippers!!
