Well, you know & probably have heard how it can be a challenge when transitioning your child from the crib, or toddler bed, to a big bed? Yeah, not for our child!
Here is the story:
Sep 2007: Our cousins in Wisconsin have this gorgeous captain's twin bed in a now spare room, which belonged to their oldest son Ben, to which Trenten, 22 months, was napping on. We just loved that bed and decided to look for one for TT once we get home. Diri said if we can figure a way to ship it to Washington, the bed is ours!! She said they'd like to put a queen in there for guests. Our mouths hit the floor.. ours? ok ok ok I am totally wanting that bed, yet how would we get it out to Washington?

Aug 2008: Our cousins from Wisconsin come on out for the wedding, DRIVING, and manage to take apart that gorgeous captains twin bed, and fit it into their mini van!!!!! So here they come, across country, with the bed! We were stunned. We were amazed. We are honored & blessed. The bed arrives and is just as beautiful as we remember. Might sound goofy, yet I personally am thrilled to keep that bed in the family and for another baby boy.
Forward to Dec 1, 2008: Thomas assembles the bed while I am at work. I come home to a surprise. Its just beautiful and much larger than I remembered. Poor wee boy needs a spring board to get up on that bed. Thomas brings in a step stool for the wee bug to climb up. How does he get off the bed. One big whopper of a jump.....every time.
TT did not want to get off his new bed for no way no how! Not even to eat. And here I thought he might have some challenges with changing from crib to big boy bed! HA! Not our son apparently. I am the one having the issues from baby to toddler to little man... sniff sniff ......
Last night: was his first night in that "Big Boy Bed" minus railing ((I am purchasing one this very afternoon)). TT insisted momma here sleep with him. Thank GOD that mattress was comfy & firm. Plus TT takes up a tiny portion on that twin mattress so I had plenty of room. By 10pm, cramped up a bit, I climbed into my bed. Yet about every hour and half, I would wake up and check that TT hadn't rolled off. He almost did at 2am, and thank goodness I was right there to grab him and roll him nearer to the wall.
THANK YOU DIRI ~ THANK YOU CHUCK!
